mannina Giorgio Mannina is Professor of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at the Department of Civil, Environmental, Aerospace, Materials (DICAM) of the University of Palermo. He is member of the Scientific Council of the University. In 2002 he obtained a degree in Civil Engineering (cum laude) at the University of Palermo. In 2006 he received the title of Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Catania. In 2004 and 2005 was visitor scientist at the Norwegian University of Trondheim, NTNU, and at the Belgian University of Leuven. He has published over 150 scientific publications in the field Sanitary and Environmental Engineering. In 2010 he was Host-Editor of the Journal Physics and Chemistry of the Earth Journal contributing to the publication of a special issue in June 2012.
caniani Donatella Caniani is Assistant professor of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at the School of Engineering of the University of Basilicata. In 2000 she obtained a degree in Civil Engineering. In 2004, obtained her PhD in “Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring”. In 2004-2005 she spent a period of research at the Danish Hydraulic Institute in Copenhagen. Since 2006, she is a member of the Academic Board of the PhD in Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring. Her researchers focus on the field Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, participating, both as scientific director and as a member of the working group, in national and international projects funded by EU, Ministry of Education, public authorities and private companies. She has published over 50 scientific publications.
gori Riccardo Gori is professor of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Florence. He graduated with honors in 1999 in Environmental Engineering at the University of Florence. In 2003 he obtained his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In 2006 he became a researcher in the field Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Florence. His research activities focus on water and wastewater treatment, waste management. He has published over 20 scientific papers in international journals and more than 30 papers presented at national and international conferences.
esposito Giovanni Esposito is professor at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. He graduated in 2000 with honors in Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II, where in 2004 acquired his PhD in Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering. Since 2006 he is Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cassino. During his research has received numerous awards: Marie Curie Grant from the European Commission (2002); Grant of the European Commission as a visiting researcher at the University of Wageningen (2004); Travel Grant from the European Commission for research at the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Centre in Wageningen (2007). Since 2008 he is member of the editorial board of The Open Environmental Engineering Journal. In 2011 he was Visiting Professor at the University of Paris-Est (France).
